How to Add a Scrolling Product Marquee to WooCommerce (Free)

Show WooCommerce products or latest posts as a continuously scrolling strip of cards with the free Post Marquee block or Elementor widget.

To add a scrolling product marquee to WooCommerce, install the free MarqueeX plugin, add the Post Marquee block or Elementor widget and choose Products as the source. Products scroll as cards with their image and title, linking to each product page. Pro lets you hand-pick products and choose card layouts. Prices and add-to-cart buttons aren't shown in the cards.

Why a marquee for products

A grid asks shoppers to scan. A slow, continuous strip of products catches the eye on a homepage or cart page without taking up much space, and suits new arrivals, bestsellers and "you might also like" rows.

Block editor

  1. Install and activate MarqueeX (WooCommerce active).
  2. Insert the Post Marquee block.
  3. Set the post type to Products, and the number and order.
  4. Choose which card details to show.
  5. Set speed, direction, spacing and pause on hover.
  6. Publish.

Elementor

  1. Drag the Post Marquee widget onto the page.
  2. In Query, choose Products.
  3. Style the cards — image ratio, title typography, spacing, background.
  4. Set speed and pause on hover, then publish.

What it doesn't do

The cards don't show price or an add-to-cart button — they link to the product page. If you need those inside a moving strip on an Elementor site, Marquee Addons' Products Marquee (Pro) includes them; see our marquee plugin comparison. For a slide-by-slide product carousel in the block editor, SlideVerse Pro has a WooCommerce Product Slider block.

Merchandising tips

  • Keep image ratios consistent across products so cards line up.
  • Use one row per purpose — "New in" and "Bestsellers" as separate strips.
  • Pause on hover so shoppers can click without chasing a card.
  • Don't autoplay too fast — products should be recognisable at a glance.

Use it for content too

The same block shows blog posts with image, category, title, author and date — useful for a "Latest articles" strip under a homepage hero or at the end of a post.

More ideas: a logo carousel, a news ticker or scrolling text in Elementor.

Common Questions

Install the free MarqueeX plugin, add the Post Marquee block or Elementor widget, and choose Products as the post type. Your products scroll as cards with the featured image and title, in a continuous loop.

With MarqueeX Pro, yes — hand-pick posts, pages or products and set their order, in both the Elementor widget and the Post Marquee block. The free version lists them by query.

No. MarqueeX's Post Marquee shows the featured image, title and meta, and links to the product page. If you need price and add-to-cart inside the scrolling cards, a dedicated product carousel is a better fit.

Yes. Post Marquee works with posts, pages and any public custom post type, with featured image, category, title, author and date.

Good spots are under the homepage hero, on the cart page as "You might also like", and on category pages to surface new arrivals.

MarqueeX scrolls with CSS, loads only on pages that contain a marquee, and the cards use your existing product images.
